Senior Finance Business Partner (eCommerce & Marketing)
Location: Hybrid working model with three days in Marylebone office
This role reports directly to the Head of Commercial Finance for the British Isles Cluster (UK and Ireland market ownership), the 2nd largest in Pandora Globally. The role business partners the eCommerce (Ecom) and Marketing teams, where the role assists to drive performance through accurate, reliable and insightful financial reporting and analysis to aid commercial decision making and measure ROI. Core finance routines include month end, forecasting sales and opex, annual budgets, flagging risks and opportunities and turning large datasets into meaningful pieces of analysis for decision making.

What to expect from the role
Ecommerce
- Business partner with Ecom director and team to provide effective insights, ensuring key financial targets are delivered against our latest forecasts
- Use various data points and trends to model revenue & profitability impact of new proposals and initiatives
- Attend weekly Digital trade meetings to ensure Finance has a voice and aware of any P&L impacts
- Monitor and track OPEX including packaging, logistics (warehouse + freight), online platform fees, customer service, etc.
- Analysis of KPI’s and other financial metrics, drawing on insights to identify the key drivers of performance to help future decision making
- Identify risks & opportunities in top line revenue and OPEX
- Work with Retail finance business partner to ensure both channel assumptions are consistent
Marketing
- Business partner with Marketing director and team to set up an open budget approach in line with global media guidelines and regularly track marketing spend vs latest forecast
- Conduct pre and post media spend analysis to challenge inefficient channel spend and improve EBIT %
- Be involved and support in external agency results where spend efficiency is determined
- Assess ROI of total marketing spend vs LY or prior forecast
- Support and build capabilities of managing the Visual Merchandise budget, flagging any risk and opportunities in spend
- Obtain a reasonable understanding of our Econometrics model and initiate budget/efficiency simulations
- Working with the CRM team to build targets for Loyalty program enrolments and reporting against performance.
Budget/forecasting
- Work closely with the Marketing, Ecom, FP&A and Global teams to produce revenues and OPEX forecasts within agreed timelines
- Review and challenge Ecom sales, orders and promo KPI assumptions vs prior year/forecasts, along with our Marketing budget to hit target EBIT %
- Variance analysis and commentary to ensure differences are explainable
- Take initiative to continuously improve and streamline the planning process
Month End Close
- Prepare month end journals for the Shared Service Centre (SSC)
- Investigate and challenge material cost variances with SSC before ledgers close
- Conduct month end reviews with FP&A manager and finance director (Calling out key messages/ drivers, variance analysis and implications to forecast/ budget)
What we are looking for
- Qualified (CIMA/ACCA)
- Previous experience in a commercial finance environment, preferably within Retail (exposure to ecommerce and digital marketing would be highly advantageous)
- Strong excel skills (use of financial models, vlookup, sumifs, pivot tables etc)
- P&L management experience
- Solid analytical and data interpretation skills
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to challenge when required and work well within all levels of the organisation
- Must be able to work to strict timelines
- Excellent at multiple stakeholder management
- Must be solution focused
