Legal Counsel

Pandora is looking for an experienced new colleague to fill the position of Legal Manager, France. The position reports to the Head of Legal Western Europe, and belongs to a global legal team with colleagues in Denmark, United States, Brazil, France, UK, Italy, Australia, Hong Kong, China, and Thailand. As a legal manager, you will be providing legal advice to all parts of the operation in France, and working closely with the local management team and key staff functions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As Legal Manager, you will have a multifaceted practice and support to the business in France, especially with organizing the legal work and compliance where the majority of the work relates to:
- Real estate law and commercial leases
- Consumer and marketing law
- Franchise and distribution
- Ecommerce
- Personal data compliance
- Competition law
- Apply for and maintain business licenses necessary for operations of our business
- M&A activities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
- Involvement in projects ensuring that material risks are identified as well as offering solutions on how best to manage and mitigate the identified risks
- Implement and monitor policies and procedures for the general operation of Pandora’s legal compliance program
- Managing disputes and responding to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Providing reports on legal and compliance matters to the local management and within the global legal team on a regular basis
- Management of external legal counsels and budgets for legal spend
The ideal candidate will be an experienced generalist with demonstrated experience in various fields, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of contracts, legal compliance, legal project management, and general commercial transactions. A background that incorporates a mixture of law firm and in-house experience is ideal. A strong background in all facets of commercial law is required, and a background in retail is preferred.
This role requires a confident and experienced candidate who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and who can quickly synthesize and advise the business with respect to subject matters with which the candidate has not previously had significant experience. Superior communication and people management/relationship-building skills are critical. The candidate must be comfortable interacting with various levels in the organization, including senior-level management.
This role is expected to develop strategic business relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal business leaders and stakeholders, assist with contract negotiations, support cost savings initiatives, and provide legal advice and support on transactions supporting the day-to-day operations.
MORE ABOUT YOU
- Legal background, preferably a mixture of law firm and in-house experience.
- Minimum 5 years of practical professional experience with a strong background within commercial law.
- Proven negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills for commercial contracts.
- Experience within legal project management.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen.
- Good level of French and English.
