- Oversee AI use-case intake, assessments, approvals, and governance workflows.
- Partner with Legal, Privacy, Security, and Procurement teams to ensure AI solutions are compliant and risk-managed from the outset.
- Ensure governance controls support transparency, accountability, and responsible AI practices.
Technical Governance:
- Define governance standards across metadata, lineage, data contracts, and lifecycle controls.
- Embed governance guardrails into data platforms, pipelines, and engineering processes.
- Partner with engineering and architecture teams to ensure governance controls are automated and enforceable.
- Drive alignment with enterprise architecture and platform standards.
Operational Governance:
- Lead governance operations including intake processes, prioritisation, escalation management, and governance forums.
- Establish and monitor data quality frameworks, SLAs, controls, and observability practices.
- Partner with data product and domain teams to embed ownership and scalable governance practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote the value of governance across the organisation.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data engineering, etc.
DAMA certification would be a plus - Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in data governance, data management, or a closely related field, with a strong track record of implementing governance frameworks in complex organisations
- Solid understanding of enterprise data governance practices, including data ownership, data quality, metadata management, data classification, and lifecycle management
- Strong knowledge of data platforms, architecture, and technical governance concepts such as lineage, data contracts, and platform guardrails
