Senior Data Engineer

City:  Copenhagen V
Country/Region:  DK
Application Deadline:  22 May 2026

Are you passionate about data engineering and do you want to be a part of data driven growth at the world’s largest jewelry brand?

As our new Senior Data Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of critical data products on our Azure Databricks-based data platform. You will work closely with product teams and lead data engineers to raise solution quality, establish standards, and help shape how we build data products for analytics and AI.

We are hiring two Senior Data Engineers, each embedded directly in a product team:

1) Digital Customer Interactions

Focused on establishing the data engineering foundation for our Digital Customer Interactions team. Understanding how customers engage with Pandora digitally is critical to driving personalisation, commercial decisions, and better experiences across channels. The team owns the full digital tracking stack (data layer, Kafka streaming, and Adobe Analytics) and you will build the pipelines and data models that turn raw web interaction data into trusted, high-quality data products in Azure Databricks.

2) Colleague, Workforce & Learning

Focused on shaping data products and data quality that help stores increase sales productivity. This role also carries technical ownership for several solutions within the Colleague, Workforce & Learning product team.

Your primary focus will be building and implementing scalable data products on our global data platform together with your engineering peers in the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with your colleagues within a product team to design scalable, efficient and stable products
  • Act as a senior sparring partner to product managers and lead data engineers
  • Take technical ownership of complex, business-critical data products
  • Create and maintain high-quality data pipeline architecture
  • Obtain relevant business and system knowledge to convert requirements efficiently to technical design documentation and conceptual data modelling
  • Ingest large, complex data sets, automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, improve data quality, etc.
  • Proactively improve data quality, observability, and reliability across pipelines and data products
  • Live and breathe “build-once-consume-many” culture in which we enable others to use our data products for maximum value-add
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to solve data‑related technical challenges
  • Actively contribute to defining and evolving best practices and standards
  • Balance speed with quality in a product-oriented engineering environment
  • Mentor other data engineers and raise the overall engineering bar

We are building on an Azure Databricks-first data platform, moving away from legacy IaaS-based solutions. Databricks, Spark, and modern data engineering practices are central to how we design, build, and scale data products going forward.

Team player passionate about data and engineering

Some would say that you are a real team player, product oriented, can-do attitude and with good stakeholder management skills. You are structured and analytical, always aiming to achieve great results. Furthermore, you are a confident communicator and can explain your solution design and tailor the message according to the audience.

You’re a strong match for this role if you have:

  • Strong, hands‑on experience with Azure Databricks and Spark in production environments
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a strong data focus
  • Experience designing, building, and operating production‑grade data pipelines on cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with analytical data models and data warehouses
  • Proficiency in Python (Scala is a plus)
  • Solid engineering discipline, including CI/CD, testing, Git, and modern DevOps practices for data engineering
  • Experience delivering enterprise‑grade, production‑ready data products used by multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work closely with product owners and other engineers, and communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Experience with streaming technologies, particularly Kafka, since our web interactions data flows through Kafka into Databricks, and this is central to the Digital Customer Interactions role from day one
  • Experience working with Azure Synapse (including dedicated or serverless SQL pools) and hybrid architectures where Databricks and Synapse coexist, which is relevant for the role embedded in Colleague, Workforce & Learning
  • Relevant education in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Management, Statistics, or similar
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Agile mindset and experience working in Scrum‑based teams

Your new team

Across both roles, you will be part of Pandora's broader Data & Analytics community, collaborating with data engineers, architects, product managers, scrum masters, and analytics engineers, as well as global stakeholders across the world who rely on our data products to make business decisions. As a growing team, you will have genuine opportunity to shape culture, ways of working, and tooling choices.
