Business Analyst, Asia Retail & Trade
As part of the creation of a new Asia cluster based in Singapore, we are looking for an Analyst – Asia Retail & Trade to join this newly established team. Reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, the role is responsible for analyzing the performance of the Retail channel and its store network across Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, providing data‑driven insights to influence decision‑making and drive commercial improvements.
About the role
The role leads day‑to‑day and post‑performance reporting for the local Retail Store business, including KPI analysis, store benchmarking, and the creation of reports to empower teams with data. Additionally, the role includes responsibility for revenue forecasting and analysis of retail‑related promotions, products, and productivity, as well as supporting ad‑hoc analytical requests.
The Business Analyst acts as a key support partner to Country Sales Heads and retail leadership, adapting reporting and insights to different levels of retail and data maturity across Asia markets, and ensuring data is translated into clear, practical, and actionable conclusions.

Key Responsibilities
KPI Monitoring & Performance Reporting
- Conduct day‑to‑day, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting of key retail trading KPIs at country, market, store, and transactional level
- Prepare and share performance reporting with Sales Management, Country Sales Heads, and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency
- Support post‑performance analysis by highlighting trends, deviations, and performance versus targets or prior periods
Commercial Insights & Performance Commentary
- Provide clear, concise, and credible commercial insights for regular performance reviews and local business discussions
- Analyze performance patterns, identify root causes, and translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Create a strong feedback loop by combining qualitative input from retail and sales teams with quantitative performance data to formulate meaningful commentary
Revenue Forecasting
- Support revenue forecasting at store‑ and daily‑level across Asia markets
- Work closely with Retail teams, Finance, and Merchandising to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and continuously refine forecasting models
- Monitor forecast versus actuals and support variance analysis to improve forecasting accuracy
Promotions, Product & Productivity Analysis
- Analyze the performance of retail promotions, campaigns, and initiatives to evaluate effectiveness and impact
- Support product‑ and assortment‑level analysis to understand performance differences across stores and markets
- Conduct productivity analysis (e.g., per store, per staff member, per hour) to identify operational improvement opportunities
Ad‑hoc Analysis & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Retail Operations Manager, Sales Management, and Country Sales Heads, as well as cross‑functional teams such as Training, Merchandising, eCommerce, Marketing, and Finance
- Support and prioritize ad‑hoc analysis requests to uncover growth opportunities and support commercial decision‑making
Reporting Enablement & BI Collaboration
- Collaborate with Global and Regional partners to refine and continuously improve globally maintained BI tools and dashboards for effective usage by non‑Finance stakeholders
- Act as a connector between Global BI teams and Asia Retail teams, ensuring local reporting needs and market realities are reflected
- Support effective adoption and usage of reporting outputs by local stakeholders
Best‑Practice Sharing
- Partner with Regional and Country Sales Teams to identify best‑in‑class as well as underperforming stores
- Share best practices, insights, and performance learnings across markets to help boost retail performance at all levels
Ideal Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–6 years’ experience in a Business Analyst, Finance Analyst, Commercial Analyst, or similar analytical role
- Prior exposure to retail, consumer, or multi‑store environments is strongly preferred
- Experience supporting regional or multi‑market stakeholders, ideally within Asia
- Hands‑on experience with performance reporting, forecasting, and KPI‑based analysis
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and trends
- Solid understanding of retail KPIs, store economics, and performance drivers
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with reporting tools and dashboards is an advantage
- Strong ability to translate data into clear insights and practical recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
- High attention to detail combined with the ability to see the broader commercial picture
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
