Job Summary:

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Pandora, you will take ownership of designing, building, and scaling advanced machine learning systems that power strategic decisions and transform customer experiences. You will partner with data scientists, engineers, and business leaders to deliver end-to-end ML solutions across Pandora’s value chain – from jewellery design, manufacturing and supply chain also merchandising and finance area. This is a hands-on technical role where you will set standards for model development, operational excellence, and innovation in applied machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End ML Ownership: Lead the development lifecycle of ML products, from problem framing and prototyping to deployment and monitoring, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and business-impactful.
• Data & Infrastructure Leadership: Architect and optimize data pipelines and ML systems, ensuring reliability, reproducibility, and integration with enterprise-scale data platforms and integration with enterprise-scale data sources such as PLM, ERP (AX / SAP), o9.
• Model Deployment & Ops: Drive best practices in MLOps, including CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, and automated retraining pipelines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, software engineers, ,data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate high-level business goals into ML-powered solutions.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Define KPIs, monitor model behavior in production, and implement continuous improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering best practices in code quality, system design, and ML development.
• Innovation & Research: Stay current with emerging ML/AI technologies (including Generative AI, Computer Vision, Forecasting and Optimization methods), and evaluate new methods to strengthen Pandora’s competitive edge.
• Documentation & Standards: Establish and maintain high-quality technical documentation and engineering standards for sustainable, long-term growth of ML systems.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field (PhD preferred).

Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning Engineering, Data Science, or Applied ML roles.
• Proven track record of deploying ML models at scale in production environments.
• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, retail, merchandising, e-commerce or finance analytics domains strongly preferred; experience bridging operational cost data with commercial or financial outcomes is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and applied machine learning.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark MLlib).
• Expertise with large-scale data systems (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Hadoop).
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and distributed databases.
• Solid understanding of system-level architecture, including scaling, MLOps, monitoring, and fault tolerance.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration.
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

Language

• Fluent professional English, both spoken and written, is required. You will work daily with stakeholders and colleagues in Copenhagen and across Pandora's global organisation, and must be able to lead meetings, present technical work to business audiences, and write clear documentation in English.

• Ability to operate strategically and tactically — from writing production code to advising stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly and influence both technical and business audiences.
