The Manufacturing Solution Architect serves as a technical authority within the Crafting & Supply domain, responsible for designing and governing end-to-end manufacturing technology solutions that support business transformation, operational excellence, and scalable growth across manufacturing operations. 

The role bridges business requirements and technology implementation by translating enterprise architecture principles into scalable and business-aligned solution designs that enable manufacturing transformation, operational excellence, and long-term technology sustainability. 

The role works closely with Enterprise Architecture and cross-functional stakeholders to shape, govern, and deliver manufacturing technology solutions that are scalable, standardized, and aligned with business objectives across multiple manufacturing sites. 

1. Solution Architecture & Design 

  • Define and maintain solution architecture artefacts (e.g., high-level designs, detailed designs, integration specifications, and architecture roadmaps) that support manufacturing business capabilities and strategic transformation initiatives. 

  • Design scalable, maintainable, and sustainable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture principles, business objectives, and long-term technology strategies. 

  • Ensure solution designs appropriately balance business value, operational efficiency, risk, and technical complexity. 

2. Architecture Governance & Clean Core Standard  

  • Act as a guardian of architecture standards and principles, promoting the adoption of standard platform capabilities and minimizing unnecessary customization. 

  • Participate in architecture review boards, design authority forums, and cross-functional architecture communities to ensure alignment of solution decisions across programs and initiatives. 

  • Ensure solution decisions are traceable to business requirements, enterprise architecture principles, and strategic objectives. 

  • Maintain architecture decisions, design rationales, assumptions, constraints, and approved deviations throughout the solution lifecycle. 

3. Business & Stakeholder Alignment 

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, business stakeholders and process owners to translate business needs into effective solution designs 

  • Support the development of business cases for new IT and digital investments by providing architectural guidance and feasibility assessments 

  • Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment on requirements, solution impact, and delivery expectations 

4. Manufacturing Solution & Platform Enablement 

  • Support the evolution and optimization of the manufacturing technology landscape to enable business transformation, operational excellence, and scalable growth. 

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of architecture practices, solution standards, and technology capabilities across the manufacturing domain. 

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and business value realization. 

5. Integration & Industrial Data Architecture 

  • Define architecture approaches and standards for application integration, information exchange, and data management across manufacturing and enterprise platforms. 

  • Ensure solutions support reliable, secure, and scalable data flows that enable business processes, operational visibility, and decision-making. 

  • Promote consistent integration patterns, data standards, and architectural best practices across the solution landscape. 

6. Standardization & Multi-Site Scalability 

  • Define reusable architecture patterns, templates, and data models to enable scalable rollouts across multiple factories 

  • Ensure consistency in integration approaches, connectivity frameworks, and data standards across locations
